Unknown Facts about Google that will blow your mind(Part 2)

Google the legend

Google

Did you know that google captured 5 million miles of 360 degree photos of roads for their google maps and Google Earth. And in places that cannot be visited by roads and cars, like deserts, they hired a few camels and then fixed a high tech 360 degree cameras in them and then shot those extreme places.

Early Google
Google is always not an up to date high tech system. In their early days of existence around 1999, google stored their entire search engine technology in 10 , 4 GB hard drives. And the tower that they used to store it was built by legos, they stated that when their company grew legos would make it easy to expand, instead of buying another tower. Their first work place was a garage which was owned by a lady named Susan Diane Wojcicki who turned out to be the youtube C.E.O.

Google's Fun HQ

Stan The Dino

Garden of the Google- plex ,mountain view California is a place of weird quirky and jokey things, we all know that having a garden means it is necessary to trim it and maintain it, but instead of using trimmers and lawn movers google hired 200 goats and allow them to graze in the land and trim the grass, google states that having goats is eco friendly and also cute to watch.

And to relive employee stress they have adult size ball pits along the garden and the best part of the mountain view garden is Mr. Stan, so who is he?, well he is a pet T.rex, by which the offline Dino game is inspired and found, to remind the employees not to make google go extinct like dinosaurs.

The Discovery of Android

Android UI

Did you ever thought of why is android(a mobile operating system) named after a robot? Well that’s because Andy Rubin, the founder of android was very fond of robots, but the way by which they came up with the logo is even weirder, the android robot was told as a male robot so they copied the logo from a random hotel bathroom sign, then they edited it a little bit for it t look like a robot and added green colour which signifies positiveness and hence came with this logo.

The Unique list of Patents and Aquisitions

According to Google's Parent company "Alphabet’s", list of mergers and aquisitions, google roughly purchases roughly 1 company a week. According to the stats of 2016 google has bought over 190 companies and the best deal among these is youtube which is bought for $1.65b in 9th October 2006, which soon or later became the worlds second largest search engine application, right behind google.

Google loves patents and well so that there are a whole load of them. They one patented a smart tattoo, which actually prints a tiny circuit board in your hands and that connects to a microphone that is built into your hands and with Bluetooth , it connects to your phone and make your voice clearer when you are attending calls. And there are load of concept designs that are coming soon. One of their interesting concepts is to add a camera in the tattoo that can take photos and videos in rugged terrains.

Alphabet inc.

And one of the best google aquisitions include the company called Calico, who are continuously researching cures to fight death itself. Alphabet’s dream is to scan every book in existence and have a site to read them easily, well they started the work for it loads and loads of books are hired by them photocopied and gave back to the publisher itself. It was a good idea, but when they crossed the limit of 25,000 books, they ran into a big problem by the publisher itself, they stated that photocopying our book is restricted and the publishers of those books legally banned the site. But even today If you dig deep into its roots you may find this site containing thousands of books that is restricted to read.

Easter egg mania

Google "Flip a coin" Easter Egg flips a coin

Google is jokey and quirky so it is not a surprise that there are jokes and funny bugs that is wanted-ly added into the searches to make them funny and these are called as ‘Easter eggs’, where if you search for the word askew, along with the definition and searches, the whole search page becomes tilted; and if you ask “do a barrel roll” it.... does a barrel roll and to know more about this come watch my video which is fully about them. Click the cyan colored text alongside to see the video (My video on Google's Easter eggs). But they did not add them in some of the popular searches because if they add them, it affects the usability of the app quite a lot

And that packs it up about today’s part two of the google the legend. If you haven’t watched the first part pls check that out, hope you had a lot of fun reading them, thank you. Have a great day!!
